Swan Music Hall at Nashville Social Club takes flight in Carson City

On the heels of a sold-out opening night on August 12 and only a few tickets left for the Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash on Sept. 3, Nashville Social Club is earning top billing as one of northern Nevada’s favorite homes for world class music discovery.

The Swan Music Hall at Nashville Social Club in Carson City offers live music lovers an intimate and sophisticated room, with state-of-the-art concert sound and stage lighting. Co-owner Kitty McKay gets excited talking about naming the hall. “We fell in love with this cool, art deco swan wallpaper and then discovered that the swan is the sacred bird of Apollo — the Greek God of music, dance and healing. It’s a one-of-a-kind music venue for touring artists, as well as a great rentable space for weddings, parties, and banquets.”

One of the most frequently asked questions is “will there be dancing?” The answer is yes! When it comes to ticketed live music, the style of music guides the room set up. Some shows feature a theater style, all-seated experience, with options to dance alongside the seats. Others have a mostly open floor for unlimited dancing and seating just around the edges. There is also a floor plan featuring several rows of reserved seats in front, with the other part of the room open for dancing. When buying tickets, the style of seating options is clear.

The music programming is purposefully diverse, with offerings to suit a variety of tastes. “Every act is carefully chosen based on unparalleled artistry and audience appeal,” says Evangeline Elston, the Nashville Social Club’s Entertainment Director. “I see my job as curating musical experiences more than just booking acts. I leave no stone unturned when it comes to finding the right artists for the venue. I love the process of presenting artists with established names and fan bases, as well as introducing our community to unforgettable musicians they may have never heard before.”

On show nights, for those interested in dining, reservations are a must. The restaurant and bar have become a favorite hang for both locals and travelers. The menu features a hip twist on southern cuisine, with gluten free, vegan, paleo and keto options. The lounge also offers signature cocktails crafted in the spirit of Music City.

Tickets start as low as $20, and are still available for these upcoming shows:

Sept. 16, Gary Allegretto: A favorite at the Genoa Cowboy Gathering, Gary Allegretto is the 2019 International Western Music Association Artist of the Year and a masterful entertainer who blends blues and cowboy music. Not only is Gary THE BEST harmonica player you will likely ever hear, he is also a remarkable singer, songwriter, guitarist, and captivating entertainer.

Sept. 23, Side Pony: Embodying the dynamic spirit of Music City like no other, this Nashville singing-songwriting smash super-duo features tunes with heartbreaking hooks and punchy turns of phrase. Their energetic melodies deftly straddle the line between class and crass, resulting in pure, down home harmony and fun.

Oct. 7 Tom Rigney and Flambeau with Michael Doucet: Two of the finest roots music fiddle players on the planet, Michael Doucet and Tom Rigney are joining forces for this Cajun extravaganza. Backed by Rigney’s hot band, Flambeau, this high energy show will be filled with incredible musicianship and commanding stage presence. Bring your dancing shoes.
