Join The Nature Conservancy for it's Science & Nature Speaker Series at River Fork Ranch Preserve! Experts from The Nature Conservancy in Nevada and partner organizations will share their expertise on a variety of topics: renewable energy, turtles, and bird migration.
Nevada is at the crossroads of the clean energy transition. This talk will explore how The Nature Conservancy is providing solutions for balancing climate positive technologies, like solar energy generation, with the need to conserve the Silver State’s natural and community values.
Peter Gower is The Nature Conservancy in Nevada’s Strategy Director for Energy, Infrastructure, and Land Use. In this role, he works to accelerate renewable energy and other climate solutions that are balanced with natural resource and community values. Peter also served for eight years as a planning commissioner for the City of Reno and Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Agency.
He has a master’s degree in land use planning and is a certified environmental planner. He lives in Reno and enjoys playing in the Sierra Nevada Mountains with his family.
