Upcoming Carson City Jukebox International Film Festival to host Workshops and Panels
The Jukebox International Film Festival is pleased to announce their Workshops & Panel Discussions for this year. In addition to 25 films from 11 countries being shown next week, visiting filmmakers will be offering up their experiences and advice in this diverse collection of programs.
The two workshops focus on acting, and creative ways to make films on small budgets. The panel discussions are both in depth looks at various aspects of filmmaking, with one panel focusing on the ins and outs of securing the proper permissions to use copyrighted music in films. The filmmakers will share some of their horror stories in this area.
The films are free to watch, but this additional programming is fee-based. JIFF is charging a nominal $5/person for each workshop and panel discussion, or a discounted rate of $16 for all four. Proceeds go directly to the filmmakers for their valuable time and insights.
Although tickets will be available at the door, JIFF Staff members advise booking tickets for the acting workshop in advance in order to guarantee seating. Space is limited. Advance tickets are available at: www.filmfreeway.com/JukeboxInternationalFilmFestival/tickets. JIFF's full program is available on their website at: www.jukeboxiff.org.
