“Let’s Play 9” Club Tags; Low-Key Disc Golf Competition - 2023 Tag Opener.
Never played disc golf before? Looking for a new form of low impact outdoor exercise close to home while meeting other newbies and friendly, experienced disc golf activists in an open and inclusive atmosphere? Want to learn about our high desert ecology and history as you play? Carson Ridge Disc Golf Park in Carson City is home to the Pony Express Disc Golf Trail.
Spend part of Earth Day supporting the mission of Carson Ridge Disc Golf Club and Carson City volunteers to protect soils and reveal the beauty of our high desert ecology with the inclusive game of disc (frisbee) golf through participation! By purchasing a Pony Tag you become a Club Member as a Participant while supporting ongoing maintenance, monitoring and improvements to Carson Ridge Disc Golf Park. Your Pony Tag will be good for participation in monthly and special tag rounds for the remainder of 2023 and into 2024. Tag-round participants all play and record their scores for 2 quick rounds on the Pony Express. The lowest score goes home with the lowest tag number of the day, but prizes from Club sponsors are awarded for an array of accomplishments during play. Tag holder results will be tracked throughout the year.
If you become more interested in becoming an Active Volunteer Member by donating your time and/or expertise to our mission, Pony-Tag attendance is the perfect way to meet Active Members and Club Officers. Our Club is growing and there are endless opportunities to contribute to the Carson City disc golf community with outreach and education.

2023 PONY TAG OPENER
Saturday, April 22 (ADA accessible restroom in parking lot)
9:00-9:45am beginner clinic, coffee, meet & greet (optional)
9:45am: check-in, purchase tags
10:00am: Round-1 tee-time
10:45-11:00am: Round-2 tee-time
11:30- noon: Tag results, distribution and awards
Every 3rd Saturday of every month in 2023, weather permitting
Cost
Adults: $20
Youth (18U): $10
Opt-in or opt-out of periodic Club news, events and activities by email.
All money from purchasing tags (or discs) goes directly through the Foundation for Carson City Parks & Recreation, a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
Loaner Discs (no discs, no worries!)
Our Club offers loaner discs for all Pony-Tag rounds and $5 used beginner discs with guidance for choosing the right discs for you from Active Club Members.
