Climate change the focus of Monday's Carson City Democrat luncheon
Hydrogeologist and professional wetland scientist Lori Carpenter will be the featured speaker at the Carson Democrats' special Earth Day luncheon. Having attended Al Gore's three-day Climate Reality Leadership Corps training, Lori is well prepared to lay out the realities of climate change and its long-term environmental consequences.
Carpenter holds a Master of Science in hydrology and hydrogeology from UNR and is now a hydrologist and senior project manager with geoUAS Inc. In her work she employs unmanned aerial systems to conduct scientific studies with respect to hydrologic resources, environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, habitat restoration and environmental risk assessments on projects in the western US and abroad.
This event is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 22, in the banquet room of Carson City's Round Table, on Retail Drive just off College Parkway. Sponsored by the Democratic Men's Committee, these luncheons help keep the lights on at Carson City's Democratic HQ. Suggested donations of $5 or more gratefully accepted but are not required. All are welcome.
