Carson City to celebrate Park Day 2022 with volunteer effort Saturday at Lone Mountain Cemetery
On Saturday, April 9, 2022, history buffs, community leaders, and preservationists will aid in the maintenance and restoration of numerous sites as part of Park Day, the American Battlefield Trust’s annual hands-on preservation event. Thousands of volunteers across the country will participate as Park Day celebrates its 25th year.
The Carson City Parks, Recreation, and Open Space department will host a Park Day event beginning at 10am until 2pm. Join us in preserving the cemetery by helping with the removal of trash, raking of leaves, and weeding — all while learning about some of Carson City's local history!
All waivers, proper direction, training, safety gear and materials will be provided the day of the event by the Carson City Parks, Recreation, and Open Space department. Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather and closed-toe shoes.
