Carson City Republic Central Committee vetting designed to find candidates who meet CCRCC values
The Carson City Republican Central Committee (CCRCC) is an organization of local citizens interested in participating in and promoting Carson City Republican Party values and it's candidates for public office.
The membership meets monthly on the fourth Thursday of the month at the Silver State Charter High School. Anyone can attend these meetings and can, as a registered Republican, become a member of the CCRCC. It is an excellent venue to learn the views of local candidates and public office holders as well as share with them your views.
The CCRCC has a Board of Directors of actively engaged Republicans that guides the Committee's activities and as such has established, in accordance with it's bylaws, a vetting committee whose goal it is to review the credentials, capabilities and qualifications of Republican candidates for federal, state, and local elected offices. The primary purpose is to seek out and find candidates who meet the values of the CCRCC and educate the Republican membership as to the qualifications of candidates who wish to be vetted.
All Republican candidates who wish to represent Carson City have been invited to participate in the process at their own convenience. Vetting meetings are private between each candidate and the committee for open and free dialogue without campaign rhetoric and as such personal subject matter is held in confidence.
Subjects generally covered are personal life; resident history; education; work history; what he or she can bring to the job; do they know what the job is; political beliefs; why are they interested in running for the position; what support will be needed from the Party; and can they support the CCRCC Platform. To date, the committee has interviewed twenty candidates.
Once all candidates have gone through this process the vetting committee will present it's findings to the CCRCC Board of Directors who, in turn, will present it's findings/recommendations to the CCRCC membership at large. As part of the vetting process all candidates have an opportunity to present their positions at the forums conducted at the monthly meetings. A 2/3 vote of the membership is required to go forth with the CCRCC endorsement of each candidate.
Members are free to vote for the candidates of their choice during the elections.
