Mystery theater dinner shows Friday, Saturday at Gold Dust West; March 5 Carl Howell benefit
It’s the night we've all been waiting for, and you're one of the chosen few lucky enough to snag a ticket! So join the stars as you walk down the red carpet when Lollipop Productions presents Murder at the Tonylou Awards, an audience participation murder mystery by Tony Schwartz and Marylou Ambrose.
This star-studded extravaganza features all the stars and studs in the theatre industry, as well as some big names in the movie business. Opening on Friday, February 12, 2016 for a total of 6 performances on Friday and Saturday nights through February 27, 2016 at the Gold Dust West Hotel & Casino in Carson City.
An additional performance on Saturday, March 5, 2016, is being presented by the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club of Northern Nevada with all of the proceeds from the performance going to the children of fallen Carson City Sheriff’s Deputy Carl Howell. This performance will also be held at the Gold Dust West Hotel & Casino in Carson City.
What can you expect from an audience participation murder mystery? Fun the minute you walk in the door! Doors open at 5:45 p.m. where you will be escorted to your star seating. There will be a no-host bar open throughout the evening for your enjoyment. At 6:30 p.m., you’ll enjoy a delicious all you can eat buffet dinner with two entrees, salad, red roasted potatoes, vegetable of the day, rolls, and dessert. Coffee, tea and water are included with the meal. The main show starts after dinner, at around 7:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The Tonylou Awards Show begins at the door as celebrity gossip columnist Constance Gabbles greets (and insults) each celebrity. Then we turn the show over to your talented host T.J. Hardcastle, heir of the famous singing, dancing, and flying Hardcastles.
But wait, is there trouble in paradise? Lorna Lush, has-been stage diva, is toting more booze than the Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales. Monty Carlo might be a star in his own country, but his English is almost unintelligent--sorry, unintelligible. Celia B. DeMilo has a weakness for young men, and her newest boy-toy Claude-Jean will do anything to become a star. M.J. Hardcastle carries a grudge against her brother and his wife, Angelina Canoli, who “wins” an award every year.
Funky Brewster is absolutely adorable, or is there a nasty secret lurking under that innocent exterior? The fact is, everyone has a nasty secret. So keep your eyes and ears open and gather clues, because at evening’s end, someone will be ruthlessly murdered, and it’s up to you to guess who done it and why!
Prizes will be awarded to some guests who correctly guess the murderer. A prize will also be awarded to the person with the most creative motive at each performance. The value of the top prize is $250.00.
Tickets for the dinner and show are $38.95 per person. Tickets for the Deputy Carl Howell benefit performance are $39.95 per person. There is a small ticket service fee. Reservations are required and tickets must be purchased at least 4 days in advance of the performance you would like to attend. Tickets can be purchased online at www.brownpapertickets.com or at www.cjwilson.ipage.com. Table reservations are available for parties of 6 or more. For show information and table reservations, call Lollipop Productions at (775) 781-0664.
