In partnership with Immunize Nevada and Optimumedicine, the Carson City Senior Center will be hosting a COVID-19 booster vaccination event on Wednesday, Nov. 17 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. available to COVID booster eligible individuals (those 65 or older, 18-64 with underlying medical conditions or those employed in a high-risk area).

Guest speaker at Monday's Democratic Women's Club meeting will be Sondra Cosgrove, PhD, Executive Director and Chair of the Board for Vote Nevada. Dr. Cosgrove, who is a professor of history at the College of Southern Nevada, will be presenting from Las Vegas via Zoom. The Brewery Arts Center in Carson City is adding more new classes to its growing catalog of opportunities. This Friday, November 5 the BAC will offer a new Creative Kids class from 3:30 to 5:30 to create a Four Seasons Painting with instructor Debbie Corona. Using acrylics students will be painting all 4 seasons on one painting, using colors that correspond to the seasons.

The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest’s Carson Ranger District, with the Carson Valley Trails Association, will host a virtual public meeting to discuss the proposal to construct approximately 8.1 miles of new non-motorized trail in the Jacks Valley area south of Carson City, Nevada, on Friday, Nov. 5 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. This trail would connect the Jacks Valley North Trailhead to James Lee County Park.
