A crowd of guests lingered on the outside patio and milled about inside the 1,500 square-foot cottage-style dwelling located at 1203 N. Nevada Street.

Thompson, owner of Eagle Mountain Trading Post at 110 S. Curry Street in Carson City, said she couldn't be happier running her business out of the historic structure that once served as a freight depot, livery and Overland Stage stop back in the early days of the Nevada state capital.

My paintings are the result of a synesthetic dialog with the landscape. I cannot help but hear the colors of the high desert in the mid-summer sun, smell the grandeur of the Sierra peaks rising above the alpine autumn twilight, and touch the expanse of vast, open spaces on a cold, winter evening.

They've ridden bikes, skateboards, scooters and skates. They loved them all so much that the two friends became partners in a business two years ago that took their passion for riding to another level.

She is currently coached by CHS coach Monica Weaver, and Reno Aquatics coach Brian Holm. Michelle will be studying Criminal Justice.
City manager outlines current emergency preparedness plan

From wildfires to flooding and all-too-common high wind events, Carson City Manager Nick Marano says local government is ready to respond at a moment's notice.
"The city has an emergency operations plan," Marano said. "We've gone through several rounds of modifications to it."
There is an emergency operations center, he said, that enhances communication between public safety and public works departments during local emergencies.
