The community of Silver Springs is excited to announce its annual Wild Wild West Founders Day Parade, happening on Saturday, Oct. 12. This year’s parade will be led by the Nevada Chapter of the National Pony Express Association, who will carry an authentic mochila along Ft. The Capital City Arts Initiative’s exhibition, "Nevada Roadsides: Northern Routes", presents work by Najera at the Courthouse Gallery from October 2, 2024 – January 30, 2025. CCAI will host a reception for the artist on Wednesday, October 9, 5:00 - 6:30p.m. with the artist’s introduction at 5:30. The Courthouse is located at 885 E Musser Street, Carson City; the gallery is open Monday – Friday, 8:00a.m. – 5:00p.m.

St. Mary's Art Center, a non-profit organization located in the former 1876 St. Mary Louise Hospital in historic Virginia City, is hosting its Fall Art Reception on October 12, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event includes live music by Brother Dan, light refreshments, a new exhibit by Las Vegas artist Kim Johnson, and access to all seven art galleries spanning across four floors.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Youth Cadet program is hosting the 4th annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser. This event will take place Sunday, Oct. 20 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Sheriff’s Office Ormsby Room, 911 E Musser Street. All proceeds will go to the Cadet program to pay for equipment, uniforms and competitions.
