A man wanted in connection with a case of elder exploitation from Carson City has been found dead, having apparently killed himself.
A car belonging to 64-year-old Ronnal Chancellor was found Friday morning at a hotel near the airport in Ontario, California. He was wanted for stealing $50,000 from a Carson City woman he had told he wanted to marry.

Hostess Brands Inc.’s outlets in Carson City and Reno will close at 5 p.m. Tuesday as part of the company’s announced intent Friday to wind down operations after struggling to keep up with rising labor costs and the ever-changing tastes of Americans.

The 2012 Polar Express train aboard the historic V&T Railway in Carson City has sold all of its tickets, officials said. The all-ages train ride is set for 15 different dates, Nov. 23 through Dec. 23. Lifts began turning at Heavenly Mountain Resort at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning, signaling winter's return to Lake Tahoe. Early-season storms combined with the West Coast’s largest snowmaking system have given Heavenly the ability to stage its earliest opening since 2004-05. Two Reno men and three Carson City men were among seven poachers who were issued citations and warnings in Idaho. According to Fox9 in Boise, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game issued 16 citations and five warnings to seven poachers from Nevada, Minnesota and the Idaho community of Harrison. Carson City Sheriff's Office personnel and Public Works Street Operations have been busy this Tuesday morning cleaning up after taggers hit streets signs and walls with gang-related graffiti.
Street Operations for Carson City reports cleaning up at least eight spots on College Parkway along the sound wall between Sherman and Nye. The tagging was documented and stripped with sandblasters, said Justin Tiearney, street supervisor.

The Department of Public Safety Capitol Police Division will conduct a full scale emergency preparedness exercise Wednesday at the State Capitol in Carson City from 8 to 11 a.m.
The exercise will involve all employees assigned to the State Capitol. The Capitol building will be closed to the general public while this exercise is held, said Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Barbara Stapleton.
In September, the staff of the Capitol performed an emergency evacuation drill, in October, an earthquake drill was held and this exercise completes the three part employee safety training.
