CARSON CITY – Technology fees collected from Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles customers between July 1, 2020 and August 31, 2021 will be refunded in cash as $1 bills available at any DMV office or rural county assessor location where DMV services are offered.

The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West’s six-member Mobility Band is returning to Carson City to participate in this Saturday’s Nevada Day festivities.

Clark Scott Taylor, April 15th, 1968 - October 17th, 2021

Clark was born on April 15th, 1968 in Clarion County, Pennsylvania. He was born to Bonnie Kay Brown and Frank George Taylor.

He grew up in Carson City, where he graduated from Carson High School in 1986, and attended UC Monterey to study hospitality management, and trained under some of the best chefs in Nevada, broadening his naturally talented culinary skills as well as his ice carving artistry.

The Rotary Club of Carson City will step back in time at its next meeting when it explores the origins of recording devices. The meeting takes place on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at noon in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom.

UPDATE: The National Weather Service in Reno issued a Flood Warning on Sunday afternoon for western Carson City, Douglas County, northern Lyon County, Storey County, southern Washoe County, western Churchill County, southwestern Pershing County in Nevada and Alpine, El Dorado, Placer, Nevada, Plumas and Sierra county in northern California.

Opponents of the proposed Carson Valley Meats meat processing facility held a protest at City Hall Saturday to voice their concerns over a slaughterhouse being built within city limits.

A multiple vehicle crash was reported near Arrowhead and Medical Parkway just after 12 p.m. on Saturday.

At least two vehicles are involved. All southbound traffic lanes are currently blocked coming off the freeway onto Carson Street and traffic is being redirected.

Deputies and first responders are on scene and NHP is enroute.

Motorists must seek alternate routes.

Just before 11:30 p.m. a traffic accident was reported on I-580.

Two vehicles were involved in the northbound lanes near the highway 50 exit.

On Memorial Day weekend, 17-year-old Shelby Harmon of Carson City could have lost her leg — or her life — after she was crushed against a building by a vehicle, causing a substantial injury to her leg, if it weren't for the quick-thinking actions of three off-duty first responders.

On Friday, October 22, 2021, Jay Prater a local resident of Douglas County, Nevada was arrested on a Federal Indictment for local charges of Prohibited Person in possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.

Emma White is a vibrant young woman, an advocate and champion for people battling mental health issues. But that hasn’t always been the case. Truckee Meadows Community College political science professor Fred Lokken will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic tele-luncheon.
