A Carson City man and an accomplice face felony burglary charges after authorities found them Tuesday at a Minden home loading up a vehicle of items they allegedly attempted to steal.

Joshua Anderson, 30, of Carson City and Jeremy Nelson, 36, of Minden face the charges following the home burglary in the 2800 block of Vicky Lane, according to Douglas County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Jim Halsey.

A 42-year-old motorcyclist died this morning in an accident on State Route 88 at Centerville Lane in Douglas County, the Nevada Highway Patrol reports.
A preliminary crash investigation done indicates that a Red Hummer, driven by a 51-year-old Gardnerville resident, was traveling westbound on Centerville Lane from the stop sign and failed to yield striking a Honda motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. Traffic was diverted while emergency crews investigated the accident.
The name of the victim hasn't been released pending notification of relatives.

Property believed to be stolen in the Douglas County and Carson City areas has been found and authorities now hope to turn over the recovered items to their rightful owners.

Idaho biologists are set to begin grizzly bear trapping for research in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest south of Yellowstone National Park.
As part of ongoing efforts under the Endangered Species Act to monitor the distribution of grizzly bears in the Yellowstone Ecosystem, Idaho Fish and Game is working to inform the public that pre-baiting and scientific trapping operations are once again about to begin in the Upper Snake Region.

Marlette Lake, which is located between Carson City and Lake Tahoe, will open for the 2011 fishing season on July 15. That season will close on Sept. 30.
Fishing hours are one hour before sunrise to two hours after sunset. The limit is zero fish. Catch and release only.
Only artificial flies and lures with single barbless hooks may be used.
Be advised that this lake is a five mile hike (one-way) with an elevation gain of about 1,200 feet from Spooner State Park at Spooner Summit.
There is no overnight camping permitted at Marlette Lake.

CARSON CITY – Thousands of Nevada residents who rely on financial assistance to pay their power bills likely won’t get help this year because of federal funding cuts, a state agency reported today.
Miki Allard, staff specialist with the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services, said federal funding for Nevada’s Energy Assistance Program will amount to only $4 million this year, down from $15.8 million in the fiscal year that just ended June 30.

A Bicycle Poker Run is set for Sunday, July 17. This 12 mile ride starts and ends at Mills Park in Carson City. Mostly flat and accessable to all ages. Along the way, there will be 10 challenges at local schools, parks and businesses throughout the city. Challenges include paper airplane toss, bowling, darts and more.
