Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid began to speak.

A year ago, the Carson High girls celebrated when they won the 4x400 at the Fallon Elks Invitational, and on Saturday, the Carson boys took their turn when the quartet of Taylor Bradshaw, David McMasters, Brandon Buonacorsi and Nick Schlager won to cap off their day at the 37th annual Fallon invite at Churchill County High's Edward Arciniega Athletic Complex.

Let me preface this by saying the just-passed health care reform law provokes strong opinions on both sides, and I'm not going to attempt in this post to pass judgement one way or the other.

But it seems very clear that embattled Gov. Jim Gibbons is trying to use this issue to boost his reelection chances, to the detriment of the state.
