It is Game On at Lake Almanor. How fast things can change with a break in the storms and a little sun. A week ago the fish were in a solid winter pattern and now the weather has them acting like spring.

The Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF) will be conducting prescribed burns at Tunnel Creek in the Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park backcountry throughout late April and into May.
The Tunnel Creek road, from State Route 28 to Tunnel Creek Station, may be closed in order to conduct the burns.
Signs will be posted throughout the area when burns are being conducted.
Nearly 100 acres will be treated in 15 separate phases.

This is a reminder that the Ormsby Sportsmen’s Association (OSA), a local sportsmen’s club for hunters and fishermen will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday evening, April 19 in the conference room at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office at 911 East Musser Street at 6:30 p.m.
Enter through the west side door.
The evening’s guest will be Rob Buonamici, Chief Game Warden, of the Nevada Department of Wildlife.
Anyone interested in hunting or fishing is invited to attend the club meetings and functions.

This is a second reminder that April is not just tax month; it's also the month to apply for Idaho moose, bighorn sheep and mountain goat hunts.

Applications for these controlled hunts will be accepted from April 1 through April 30.
Hunters may apply at Fish and Game offices, license vendors, and with a credit card by telephone or over the Internet.

CARSON CITY – A proposed amendment to the Nevada constitution to allow a future Legislature to create a school voucher program so parents could get state funding to send their children to private schools, including religious schools, was heard by a Senate panel today.
