Ed Choklek, President of the local chapter of the St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVDPS), will share his organization’s role in helping those less fortunate in our community with members of the Rotary Club of Carson City at the next club meeting. The public is invited to attend the meeting which takes place Tuesday, October 3rd, at noon, in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom.

This is a community homeschooling event attended by children from all along the valley, reaching from Sparks to Gardnerville.

Joshua Martinez is an amazing student at Carson High School. Joshua is actively involved in the JR Military Science Program and is the Battalion Administrator. He has also taken Career and Technical Education courses (CTE) in the Health Science Field, including Emergency Medical Services and currently, Emergency Medical Technician.

The Carson City Murals & Music Festival culminates Saturday September 30th at 7pm with a headline performance by blues legend Ian Moore in the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall (511 W. King St).

Hello fellow anglers. You can tell when fall has officially arrived. The sun is going down sooner, and it's time to put the heater in the boat. I have been on a little adventure over the last couple weeks fishing in our area.

During Wednesday’s Carson City Planning Commission meeting, commissioners unanimously approved a special use permit for the new fire station and emergency operations center proposed to be built off Butti Way.

The facility would include more than 18,000 square feet of space that will house a new fire station, an emergency operations center for the city, and the city’s IT department.

The inaugural three-day Murals & Music Festival opens today, Thursday, bringing live musical performances and vibrant, colorful murals to the capital city landscape.

Local, national and international artists will create more than 20 murals live at the Brewery Arts Center and at public spaces around Carson City. The festival runs through Saturday. It is free, open to the public and for all ages.

On Wednesday, Sept. 20, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division, in collaboration with Probation and Parole, conducted a sex offender compliance check in Carson City. There were 155 registered sex offenders who were checked to ensure compliance with community registration as required by Nevada Revised Statute.

Carson Tahoe Blue Bulls will host the Berkeley Men's Club on Saturday, Sept. 30 at Carson High School for the inaugural Rugby match in Carson City. The Blue Bulls started at the end of 2019 and have grown to where it stands today.

When the Republicans took control of the House this past January, your GOP colleagues decided that one of their first orders of business was to remove Representative Ilhan Omar, MN CD5, from her committee assignments.
The removal from her committee assignments, possibly because she is a Muslim woman who is the first naturalized citizen of African birth to serve in Congress, as stated, was because of past comments she made taken to be anti-semitic.
