Children and Family Counseling therapists Jeffrey Davis, MSW, LCSW and Kristopher Komarek, MSW, CSW-Intern, and will present a workshop at the Carson City Library on Monday, October 8th, at 6:00 p.m. This program is the third in the Mind-Body Connection: Mental Wellness Series. The topic of the workshop will be “Am I My Parent Parenting My Child? Is This Good or Bad?” Active participation and interactive dialogue is encouraged. Refreshments will be served.

The Carson City Greenhouse will offer tours of its premises on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. At 10:30 a.m., Greenhouse manager Ray Saliga will present a workshop on propagating herbs from cuttings. The Greenhouse is located on the Carson High School campus, 1111 North Saliman Road. To reach it, turn into the high school property from Saliman Road at Robinson Street. The public is invited to attend.

A strong ridge of high pressure will push temperatures high temperatures 10 to 15 degrees above normal on Tuesday, with records possible in several locations in Eastern California and Western Nevada, according to the National Weather Service in Reno. The projected high for Tuesday in Carson City is 90 degrees. The record was 91 set in 1963.

Authorities are looking for a man, unarmed but believed dangerous, who escaped early this morning from the Virginia City Jail. Jeremy James Morales, escaped at about 1:50 this morning, according to Storey County authorities. He was being held in Storey County Jail on charges of sexual assault involving a minor.
Morales, 38, is 5' 11" tall and weighs about 220 pounds. He apparently locked a deputy inside his jail cell when the deputy was doing cell checks. He was scheduled to be sentenced to the Nevada Corrections Department today.
