Paul Abowd, the founder of Carson City’s Adele’s restaurant, has died according to family.

Abowd, along with his wife Adele, purchased the historic building at the corner of John and Carson streets in 1977, which would become a landmark restaurant of Carson City for decades.

Visit Carson City is offering $5,000 to an adventurer willing to complete the Carson City to Canada Quest, a 1,600 mile hike that begins in Carson City, connects to the Pacific Coast Trail by way of the Capitol to Tahoe Trail, and through to Canada.

On Saturday, March 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. head down to C-A-L Ranch in Carson City to support youth in agriculture with a hot dog fundraiser.

The fundraiser benefits the Stockton Well Keystones, based in Lyon County, which is a member of the Keystone Agricultural Society.
