Carson City voters have received their official mail-in ballots, with what some are calling a major problem.

In the race for U.S. Congress, currently held by incumbent Mark Amodei, an Independent American Party (IAP) candidate, Lynn Chapman, has been incorrectly categorized as a Democrat.

The Carson Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Gary Schwartz, kicks off its 40th season this October with a pair of "A Night on Broadway" concerts on Friday, Oct. 18, and Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024. These concerts celebrate the history of Broadway and heritage of music from Tin Pan Alley to contemporary Broadway. Narrator is Rita Geil.

As of this writing, it appears the Tahoe Conservancy is about to acquire Motel Six, a happy ending for a motel that used to charge six dollars. I happened to have enjoyed a summer there myself some sixty-three summers ago. Yes, in that heavenly summer of ’61, Motel Six was the Sands, and they hired a 17-year-old lifeguard to work their pool for the summer, yours truly.
