Carson City Sheriff's deputies arrested Miguel Angel Sous-Andalon, 23, after he allegedly broke into an apartment in the 700 block of Hot Springs Road early Sunday morning and refused to leave.

According to the arrest report, Sous-Andalon was in a "highly intoxicated state" when he broke into the apartment, laid down on the resident's sofa and refused to leave.

CARSON CITY – If a $490,000 grant to plant trees in Clark County public places as part of a federal job-creating stimulus project should be measured by the “greening” of Southern Nevada, then the effort might be considered a modest success.
Thirteen different government and nonprofit entities applied for 1,814 trees for planting at 35 different public areas in Southern Nevada through the grant. A total of 1,541 trees have been provided to the agencies and groups for planting, mostly at schools and parks around the Vegas valley.

The public gathered on the Legislative Plaza on Sunday afternoon to hear STRAZZ, the Strings in the Schools youth jazz ensemble, play a selection of jazz-style favorites. The free concert was sponsored by the Mile High Jazz Band, as a part of their Jazz! Carson City Jazz Festival. The festival runs throughout the month of August, with free events sprinkled throughout the calendar, as well as one paid event taking place at the Bliss Mansion.
