Darin Dwight Rogers, 47, of Carson City, was arrested Saturday afternoon near the corner of Curry and 6th Street for felony DUI, misdemeanor hit and run, and misdemeanor driving on a revoked license.

According to the arrest report, a person called in to report that a vehicle had backed into his vehicle in a casino parking lot and left the scene. The reporting party followed the vehicle to a parking garage at Curry and 6th Street. When a Carson City Sheriff's deputy arrived, he found Rogers near the driver's side of the vehicle the reporting party alleged hit his.

There are several construction projects and road closures this week:

Construction will begin on Monday, June 25, at the intersection of E. Fifth Street and Airport Road. The westbound lane of E. Fifth Street will be closed in the vicinity of the intersection and there will flagger controlled traffic. Minimal delays are possible.

The Carson City School District is holding a school board meeting on Tuesday, June 26 at 7 P.M., located at Sierra Room of the Community Center, 851 E. William Street.

The Board of Trustees of Carson City School District and State of Nevada will discuss a Resolution to favor the Final Amended Budget for the Fiscal Year 2011-2012. This discussion will include topics such as revisions and certified enrollment, and audited fund balances. Updates on the phase one school bond projects, and functions and faculty features will also be discussed during the meeting.

CARSON CITY – State lawmakers have put a new tourism contract to promote Nevada on hold despite the concerns of one lawmaker that the move exceeds legislative authority.

Concerns have been raised by Sen. Steven Horsford, D-Las Vegas, about the intent to award the two-year, $3.2 million contract to an out-of-state firm.

Carson City residents will get to vote on the future of the Carson City Center aka Nugget Project after the Board of Supervisors voted 4-0 to put the question on the ballot.

The question will ask voters to approve a 1/4 cent sales tax increase to fund the $28 million Knowledge and Discovery Center that has been the focus of the project for the last 4 years.
