Here is the latest Carson City Supervisor candidate contribution report from the Nevada Secretary of State's office. The report was issued Nov. 2 and it contains contributions from Oct. 13 to Nov. 1.
A total of four candidate reports have been issued and their full donor histories through the election can be found here.

The murder trial of Morris Rockwood Preston and Joseph William Smith was among the most controversial events in early 20th century Nevada and made national news. The courtroom drama pitted labor union radicals against the Goldfield corporate establishment led by powerful mine owner George Wingfield. Preston would be nominated for president of the United States in 1908 while incarcerated in the Nevada State Prison in Carson City.

Here is the Carson City area road construction and maintenance report for the week of Nov. 5-11. There will be shoulder work along Roop Street between Winnie Lane and Northridge Drive and on Northridge Drive near the intersection with Roop Street. No delays are expected.

Curry Street will be closed between 6th Street and 7th Street due to construction activity. Detours will be signed.

There will be shoulder work on California Street near Overland Street due to utility relocation related to the next phase of the Carson City Freeway. No delays are expected.

The one thing voters on both sides of the partisan divide can happily agree on is that it's over Tuesday.
More than half the electorate has already gone to the polls, voting early — including 60 percent of those registered in Carson City. But the constant calls late into the evening from both sides, the endless negative ads on TV and the daily onslaught of mailers has a large part of the electorate along with many candidates — fed up and ready to have it all over with.

An anonymous tip about a vehicle used in drug transactions and phone text messages about drug sales led to the arrest of three Carson City residents for possession with the intent to sell.
The arrests were made near the area of 700 Hot Springs Road at 1:40 a.m. Oct. 29. According to the Carson City Sheriff's Office arrest report, a deputy was parked outside an apartment building and was speaking with a Capital City patrol officer. A vehicle drove up to the apartment complex that matched the vehicle description provided by the anonymous tipster.

An anonymous donor has pledged to match up to $25,000 of donations from the community for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada by the end of the year.
For the second year in a row, the former Carson City resident and business owner who wishes to remain anonymous has made the offer to the club.

In the aftermath of the super storm that battered the Northeast, many have found themselves with no transportation. Cars were destroyed, roads were washed away, subway tunnels were flooded, and due to interrupted supply lines and power outages, many gas stations are now without fuel or simply unable to run their pumps. Long lines are forming at the stations that are open, and rationing is even being enforced in some places.

Operation Scarecrow, a multi-jurisdiction law enforcement task force designed to keep watch on convicted sex offenders during Halloween, reports that it did not make any arrests.
Officers from the Nevada Department of Public Safety – Division of Parole and Probation made a total of 112 home contacts and 35 surveillances of supervised sex offenders in the Carson City and Northern Nevada.
