New fire restrictions prohibit campfires at Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest campgrounds

At midnight Saturday the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest entered Stage 2 Fire Restrictions in response to the current severe risk of wildfire. Nevada is experiencing record dry conditions with much of the state in a severe drought.

Carson City, Quad area COVID-19 update Saturday, Aug. 8: Nineteen new cases, 2 recoveries

Carson City Health and Human Services reports on its Facebook page Saturday that there are 19 new cases and 2 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 783, with 624 recoveries and 14 deaths, 145 cases remain active.
