Carson City, Douglas and Lyon counties to participate Oct. 2 in Walk to School Day

Children not taking part in an organized school event are encouraged to involve their family in safely walking or bicycling to school on Oct. 2 and other days.
Stabbing reported near Carson Street casino Wednesday just after noon, suspect at large
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Wed, 09/25/2019 - 11:22amJust after noon on Wednesday, Carson City sheriff's dispatch reported that a man had been stabbed near a North Carson casino and a suspect is still at large.
The suspect is being described as a white adult male wearing a red hat, black shirt, dark blue jeans and suspenders. He is reported to have been last seen exiting the building near Robinson Street.
CHS librarian highlights favorite author as part of Banned Books Week campaign

Along with libraries across the country, the Carson City Library is celebrating Banned Books Week (Sept. 22-28) with a special event to thank authors whose work has been prohibited or challenged.
Lake Tahoe watercraft inspection stations to close for the season

As of Oct. 1, watercraft inspection operations will move from roadside inspection stations and occur at Cave Rock and Lake Forest launch ramps for the winter season.
Carson City arrests: Man allegedly steals and pawns laptop, games from friend's game room

The Northern Nevada Development Authority will host its monthly Business Edge meeting at Casino Fandango with a focus on Nevada's energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives. Also happening: Fusion cooking classes at Healthy Communities Coalition’s Dayton headquarters, plus the Veterans Resource Group will make a visit to the Dayton Food Pantry.
