September 29, 2019 (All day) On the Back Porch! at the KNVC radio station in Carson City. Bring your lawn chairs & blankets, a picnic basket & sunscreen to the final summer concert in the FREE series - Canyon White!
Rocking...Soulful Music...played from the heart. You will really love this Singer/Songwriter's unique style.
The event is from 6 to 7 p.m. on the KNVC back patio, 990 North Minnesota Street. Bring your own lawn chair. This is a free concert.

Dayton man killed in motorcycle crash on SR-207; cause of crash unknown

On Sunday, July 28, 2019, at approximately 7:58 PM, NHP Troopers were dispatched to a serious injury crash on SR-207 and Douglas County mile marker 1 involving a motorcycle.
Preliminary investigation shows that a black 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound on SR-207. For an unknown reason, the motorcycle overturned and both driver and passenger were ejected.
The driver (Carlos Esparza, a 56-year-old Dayton resident) succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at an area hospital.

UPDATE 8:59 p.m.: The baby has been rescued with no injuries and the man is no longer a threat, according to law enforcement on scene. N. Edmonds is still closed for traffic but residents should be allowed back into their homes shortly
UPDATE 8:45 p.m.: Several series of gunfire could be heard as well as shouting from law enforcement on scene.
UPDATE 7:54 p.m.: Another gun shot.
UPDATE 7:06 p.m.: Another gun shot, followed by more shouting.
UPDATE 7:03 p.m.: A large commotion followed by shouting could be heard coming from the residence.

August 6, 2019 (All day) Silver City, Nevada - An Engineering/Robotics Mini-Camp for kids ages 8-14 and their parents takes place on Tuesday, August 6 from 10am – noon at the Silver City School House (community center) at 385 High Street, Silver City, Nevada 89428. The free, annual event is led by the Society of Women Engineers and FIRST Nevada.
