The wait is over, Panera Bread opens in south Carson City
After two years of anticipation, Panera Bread in South Carson City is open as of Monday morning.
Known for its fresh baked bread and all-natural antibiotic-free menu with no preservatives, Panera Bread is located at the Cochise Crossing, 4881 Cochise Street. They serve bakery treats, sandwiches, salads, soups and more.
Panera Bread has hired 70 people to staff the bakery cafe and is still accepting applications, said Jacob Bustos, regional vice president.
The chain originally announced their new location in south Carson City on Highway 50 back in 2019 as the new shopping center that now contains Chic-Fil-A and Dutch Bros, among other stores, was first breaking ground.
Hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sunday hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
There will be a ribbon cutting Tuesday at 5 p.m. with the Carson City Chamber of Commerce.
"We are excited to be in Carson City. We are proud to be members of the community and we look forward to serving our new artisan bread, pastries, sandwiches, salads, soups and bagels. We look forward to seeing our community at the ribbon cutting at 5 p.m.," said Bustos.
Panera is already searching for local non-profits to partner with for donation campaigns, such as providing unsold bread at the end of the day and non-profits for their "Change for Children" campaign, which will provide monetary help for children within our local region in the form of backpacks, school supplies, and more.
