Senators win Sierra League title
By Charles Whisnand
This had to be the most cathartic experience in the history of Carson High football.
Seven years of frustration. Gone. Questions on why Carson can't win in football... No more.
The Senators exercised all their demons with a resounding 34-6 win over Douglas on Friday at CHS, ending a seven-game losing streak to the Tigers in emphatic fashion.
This wasn't just surgery. The Senators ripped the Tigers' heart out with their bare hands.

Carson boys, Shroy run to regional gold
By Dave Price
RENO — Richard Shroy set the pace, but it was a true team effort that carried the Carson High boys cross country team to its title at the Northern 4A Regional Championships on Thursday.
While Shroy won the individual gold, Nick Schlager and Brent Moyle were close behind in fifth and sixth, Logan Philippi was 11th and Evan Richards 16th as the Senators outdistanced Galena by a 36-56 margin for the team championship on a runner-friendly cool and overcast afternoon at Rancho San Rafael Park.
It was a case of the Senators peaking at the right time, according to coach Pete Sinnott.
