Fire damages home on East Musser
Fire raced through the east rear of a small home at 1124 E. Musser during the noon hour today. Firefighters were called by a passing Sheriff’s Deputy who spotted smoke coming from the rear of the home one block east of the Sheriff’s Office. Two snow white poodles were found inside and were rescued.
Damage was extensive to the east rear of the home with smoke damage throughout. But it was a definite save for the CC Fire Department.
The fire appears to have started on the outside of the house where firefighters discovered what may have been a pile of fireplace kindling. The investigation is continuing. The owners were not home at the time.
