Comment on The mud is starting to fly over the downtown Nugget Project by ScottHowd
There seems to be a prevailing sense of entitlement everywhere in this country. People want to start some economic project and instead of risking their own money they think it’s perfectly acceptable to forcibly take other peoples money to attempt an enterprise that is dubious at best. If they don’t get their way then everyone who says no is an obstructionist.
I happen to agree with people who think that their money is their money, and the government does not have a right to it everytime it dreams up some ridiculous scheme that is going to ‘Improve’ everyones life. I don’t need the government to improve my life. I would appreciate it very much if the government would leave me alone.
In case you people don’t notice, we are in a recession, the last thing anyone needs is increased taxes.
If you want to help the economy. Lower taxes and purge silly regulations and make it easier for real business people to do business in Carson City.
Oh, and by the way, incase you haven’t noticed what everyone else has noticed. You can’t even fill recently contructed retail and office space that you already have in Carson City. The people pushing this project are obviously blind to the obvious, it’s as if they are walking in their sleep. I simply refuse to ignore it and suspect people with common sense are stumbly over this block also.
