After four years at the helm of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, I have decided to "hang up my spurs" and retire as the Chamber's Executive Director. I started at the Chamber in March 2019 after John Cassinelli saw me riding my ATV around the Dayton Ranchos and asked me if I wanted a part-time job. Ha! After numerous discussions and the revision of dog codes inside Carson City parks, Mills Park has now officially become a dog-friendly zone — so long as Fido and Spot remain on leash.

The change comes after many years-worth of issues regarding citizens bringing dogs into Mills Park, which, until the recent revision, was unauthorized.

Douglas County’s Corley Ranch is a working ranch and farm that has often been the destination for fall festival fun, including everything from pumpkin patches to corn mazes, goat feeding to pig races, and everything in between.

Now, however, a new event will be coming to the ranch in early summer with the Back Country Music Festival on June 2-4.
