As a recent beneficiary of Nevada Housing Division’s Home is Possible grant assistance to firmly plant resident first-time homebuyers into Nevada soil, I found myself needing to take a fresh look at my old furniture in new rooms. Senator Ben Kieckhefer, whose district includes Reno and Carson City, introduced a legislative package Tuesday to strengthen Nevada’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and ensure Nevada is the destination of choice for business startups and entrepreneurs. The package includes a first-of-its-kind $45 million venture capital fund for businesses in the state.

CARSON CITY — The Legislature played host to a former director of the CIA yesterday, who came to voice support for a renewable energy bill.
James Woolsey, director of the CIA between 1993 and 1995, said the passage of the bill is a matter of national security.
Senate Bill 184 would establish a “feed-in tariff” program in Nevada, which would allow small-scale solar, wind, geothermal and other energy producers to “feed in” their energy to the grid.
