Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 06/16/2014 - 9:08amA 25-year-old ex-felon with ties to gangs was arrested Saturday in Carson City after he was seen Friday in Douglas County with a gun, attempting to provoke a fight among rival gang members and juveniles, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
Andrew William Tagay was jailed on numerous felony and misdemeanor charges, including being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon. His bail was set at $500,000. He was taken into custody in the 1200 block of Palo Verde by Tri-County Gang Unit deputies who responded to Mills Park.
Carson City sheriff's deputies arrest man on felony child neglect charge
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 06/12/2014 - 9:45amA 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday on a felony charge of child neglect after he was found intoxicated with his young daughter in a department store fitting room, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
Robert Brent Key is in Carson City Jail on $40,150 bail. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the department store at 8:56 p.m. in the 3800 block of South Carson Street after store employees reported a heavily intoxicated man who was knocking over clothing racks.
Carson City man jailed after allegedly threatening motel clerk with hammers
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 06/09/2014 - 10:31amA 39-year-old man faces felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, after he allegedly swung two hammers at a motel clerk Saturday night in Carson City.
Ryan Schroeder of Carson City also faces felony charges of burglary and probation violation. He's being held without bail on the probation violation charge and $40,000 on the other two charges. He was arrested at 10:59 p.m. at Carson and Ninth streets, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy.

Rebecca Peltier, 31, was arrested at 6:44 p.m. in the 100 block of Corbett Street in Carson City on suspicion of maintaining a drug house, and possession of methamphetamine, both felonies. A 42-year-old Reno man, Jason Leon Baker, was also arrested on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.

In what Furlong described as three "politically quiet but challenging years," crime statistics have trended downward since the 2010 election, which is remarkable given Carson City's economic climate as it continues to deal with the effects of a deep, prolonged recession.
Fighters Against Bullying To Conduct School Bullying Training At Carson High School

The training will be attended by about 135 Carson High Teachers, and will consist of Recognizing, Combating, Resolving, and Preventing Bullying. Bullying has become a major problem in the United States, and it takes a Community effort consisting of Parents, Teachers, Law Enforcement and organizations such as FACA/FAB to help slow the growth of the major problem facing many youth today.

Patten was arrested for a felony probation violation, a felony failure to appear warrant, and an unspecified misdemeanor felony. No bail has been set.

Juan Diaz-Rodriguez, 44, of Carson City, was arrested at around noon Friday near the 1900 block of North Carson Street. Diaz-Rodriguez was arrested for a felony fraud of a business. Bail is set at $7,500.

Crime Log: Officers discover US Marshall's warrant during booking

Costa on Wed, 12/21/2011 - 1:41pmAt approximately 8 a.m. Monday morning, an officer accepted Omar Segura-Hernandez, 28, a Carson City resident, into the Carson City Detention Facility on Musser St. Segura-Hernandez was originally arrested for a felony failure to appear warrant issued in his name. Upon arrival at the detention facility, the booking officer accessed Segura-Hernandez' records and discovered a felony US Marshall hold for felon in possession of a firearm and a misdemeanor NHP failure to appear for a traffic violation hold. Both felony charges carry no bail.

Carson City deputies arrest man with felony robbery, credit card fraud warrants
Submitted by editor on Sun, 06/13/2010 - 10:47amA 23-year-old transient was arrested Saturday and faces several charges including warrants for felony robbery, fraudulent use of a credit card, and uttering a fictitious bill.
Christopher Hugh Trappe, was arrested at North Carson and William streets at about 11:25 p.m.
According to the arrest report, deputies working with the Tri-County Gang Unit were dispatched to look for a four-door sedan with unknown Nevada license plates occupied by two men with shaved heads who left the area of Russell Way and Long street, displaying a "red rag" which is used to provoke gang activity.
