The State of the City address is a way community members can be kept up to date on everything going on in our capital city, including achievements, challenges, and everything in between.
Updates included achievements such as the completion of the water pipeline from Douglas County to Carson City, the Complete Streets Project, Tesla’s grant for the Carson City School District, the first new park opening in 12 years, the opening of the Disc Golf course, and more.

Sales tax receipts down in Carson City for April

The people swept all Democrats out of the state-wide offices, reversed the majorities in both houses of the Legislature, and by a 4-to-1 margin defeated the "margin" tax. We the Republican base were looking forward to restoring long-overdue sanity at the State level.

Nugget Project: Meet the developer (updated)

Rick Oshinski, CEO of Sacramento-based P3 Development, will appear before the Carson Nugget Development Advisory Committee tonight in the Community Center's Sierra Room.
Carson Now plans to show live video of the meeting, as well as hosting a discussion forum.
Many questions are sure to arise, concerning the details on the project and its scope, as well as the developer and how the company was chosen.
As I've been talking to people about this project, I've collected a number of questions, that I put together below.
Carson City sales taxes still look bad. Here's a breakdown.

Sales tax collections statewide were down 8.1% in January. They were off 4.8% in Washoe County, down 2.2% in Douglas, minus 22% in Lyon and down 12.7% in the Fallon area.
