Taste of Downtown, live music, history talks, BMX and more: Carson City region readies for jam-packed weekend

As we head into the final stretch of the week, events around the Carson City region are lined up for the next three days, including museum activities, outdoor concerts, a car cruise Friday at Carson Mall, athletic events, a Carson High School class of 1979 reunion, the Taste of Downtown on Saturday and much more.

Aaron Sims to host campaign kickoff BBQ for mayoral candidacy

The public is invited to join us for the official campaign Kickoff for Aaron Sims who will be declaring his candidacy for Mayor of Carson City.

This event will be a barbecue and a speaking engagement. We will have good food and music. It is Saturday, July 20.

The event will be held at the Firefighters Memorial on the East side of Mills Park. Entrance is just off of Saliman Rd across from the high school. We are asking for an RSVP which you can do by following the link to the facebook event at the bottom.

Doors open at 11:30AM and the event will start at noon.

Artown, Nevada Humanities present Reinventing Radio: An Evening with Ira Glass

Artown and Nevada Humanities have partnered with KUNR Reno Public Radio and University of Nevada, Reno, Reynolds School of Journalism to present renowned storyteller and NPR host Ira Glass for a unique speaking engagement on Saturday, Oct. 17, 8 p.m. at The Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Reno.
