SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — Organizers of SnowGlobe, the annual music festival held in South Lake Tahoe, have canceled their 10th annual event due to COVID concerns.

South Lake Tahoe police officer, wife among 3 killed in vehicle crash near Sand Mountain

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly single-vehicle rollover that occurred shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday night that took the life of South Lake Tahoe Police Officer Mark Hounsell, his wife Jeanne and one other person.

South Lake Tahoe Police Chief Brian Uhler made the following statement:

Lake Tahoe Community College receives $5 million donation to bring 4-year degrees to South Shore

The Lake Tahoe Community College Board of Trustees accepted a $5 million donation Tuesday from longtime Tahoe resident Lisa Maloff, in memory of her husband, Robert Maloff, according to the South Lake Tahoe community college website and LTCC officials.

The donation will be used to construct a University Center that will make four-year degrees a reality on the South Shore. This is the largest single donation ever given to LTCC, rivaling those that have been given to much larger colleges in California and around the country.

Edgewood Companies agreement with South Lake Tahoe creates Bonanza Park

After more than a year in the making, the official opening of Bonanza Park in South Lake Tahoe on Saturday brought community members and families together in celebration of a cooperative public and private agreement made possible by city leaders and Edgewood Companies.
South Lake Tahoe Mayor Claire Fortier and Edgewood's CEO and president Chuck Scharer gladly cut the ribbon after months of negotiations allowing for future property and building rights in exchange for the public park.

Keep Tahoe Blue Volunteer Weed Pull

Join the League to Save Lake Tahoe and the U.S. Forest Service for a weed pull on the evening of June 28th in Rabe Meadows near Stateline, Nevada. Volunteers will be helping to remove invasive weeds that are threatening Tahoe’s native plant species and wildlife habitat. Learn about invasive weeds and how to properly remove them.
