Carson City to host Heal the World Interfaith Picnic of Nevada

Christians of various denominations, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, Baha’is, and others, besides sharing food, music, games, prayers, a “Peace Cake”, etc., will also try to find similarities between their diverse traditions at second annual “Heal the World Interfaith Picnic of Nevada” on July 31, said Adina Richman Karst, vent coordinator.
Boating Safety Professionals Host 'Ready, Set, Inflate!'

Boating safety officials, volunteers and members of the boating public will hold the second annual “Ready, Set, Inflate!” event at the Reno Cabela’s store Saturday at 10:30 a.m. as part of a nationwide effort to set a world record for the most life jackets inflated in one day.
Last year’s total was 1,154 participants.

The tightknit community of Silver City works together to offer a free summer youth program, monthly community dinners, cultural events, a volunteer library, cooking lessons, and a community garden.
2011 Carson City Historic Preservation Scavenger Hunt

The adult scavenger hunt will consist of 30 historic architectural features, all within in the historic district, and the kids scavenger hunt will consist of 20 historic features within a smaller area.

Last year’s event was very entertaining to watch. It was debatable who had more fun – the dogs or their owners.
The event will held at the Carson Aquatic Facility Outdoor Pool, 841 N Roop St Carson City.
