Science Cafe' "Graphene"
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Tue, 09/18/2012 - 9:24pm"Graphene: What is it and what is it for?" Presented by Thomas Herring, PhD/Physics. The talk will cover a brief history of graphene along with a bit of quantum mechanics to help describe some of the material's more interesting properties. The range of interesting and unique properties makes graphene a candidate for a huge range of potential applications. A list of some of the more exciting ones will be covered. The talk will conclude with a summary of what might happen with graphene research in the future.
