Celebrate Earth Day with Festival of Earthly Treasures and Healing Arts

Come spend the day and celebrate Earth Day with us at our second annual Festival of Earthly Treasures and Healing Arts from 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday, April 21st at the Plaza Event Center in Carson City. We will be featuring rocks, gems, healing arts, free workshops, readings and silent auction.

Raffles prizes will be given away every 20 minutes. Only $5 admission and kids 12 and under are free. All proceeds to benefit Esperanza Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit corporation dedicated to healing Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome in all of us.

The 14th Annual Feast of Chocolate

It’s almost here, the 14th Annual Feast of Chocolate. Come get your chocolate fix Feb. 9 from noon to 3 p.m. in the relaxed atmosphere of the Carson City Plaza Conference Center, with all you-can-eat chocolate, wine, music, raffles and silent auction prizes.

Benefit for Highway 50 crash victim Daniel Holley

A benefit for Daniel Holley, who survived an August 14 vehicle crash on Highway 50 that killed four people, will be on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Tuff Luck Ranch, 175 River Road, Dayton. Gates open at 1 p.m. Tickets are $15 are each and can be purchased at the gate.
Entertainment provided by Richard Elloyan, local singer, song writer and cowboy poet.
Join us for an afternoon of visiting with friends, listening to great entertainment, enjoying a barbecue.

Second Annual Carson Animal Rescue Event

Tickets to the Taste of DownTown Carson City go on sale June 1

Taste of DownTown Carson City tickets, 2,000 of them, will go on sale June 1. The popular culinary event of the summer, Taste of DownTown is held on the third Saturday in June each year and presented by Advocates To End Domestic Violence to benefit victims and their children.

14th annual Senior Celebration

This is a free health and information fair for seniors and their families in honor of Older Americans month! There will be entertainment and giveaways, including live music from the thirties, forties, and fifties by Sandi TenBoer, raffles, and a cake walk. There will also be free screening and testing for blood pressure, blood glucose, and other conditions.

The fair will run from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Carson Nugget ballrooms.

Maddyson needs your help

Little five year old Maddyson Palmer must undergo her third open heart surgery soon and she and her mom will have to travel to Las Vegas. Her Mom will also have to take time off work for travel, the surgery, and Maddyson's recovery time. They heed YOUR HELP!

TONIGHT - January 13, 2012, there will be a fundraiser at High Sierra Brewery in Carson City from 5 - 8 PM. A percentage of the sales will go toward their expenses and there will be raffles.

Boys and Girls Club Lake Tahoe Golf Classic set for October

The 18th annual Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe Golf Tournament, an annual favorite of locals and visitors, is set for Monday, Oct. 17 at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. The entire $195 entry fee goes directly to the Boys & Girls Club to continue its work with local children. Last year the BGCLT raised over $35,000 with this year’s goal to break $45,000.

A Show & Shine will be at the Carson City Harley Davidson on Saturday, April 16 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is presented by Capital Classic Productions. All cars, trucks and motorcycles welcome. Elk Camp 2011 generates $2.5 million for conservation

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation on Sunday wrapped up its largest annual conservation fundraiser with gross revenues topping $2.5 million.
Those dollars will help support many RMEF initiatives to ensure the future of elk, other wildlife and their habitat. RMEF is a major supporter of new elk restoration efforts in Missouri and Virginia.

Carson City Mint Coin Show at the Nevada State Museum

The Carson City Mint Coin Show at the Nevada State Museum will be Aug. 27-28 and offers something for everyone. Held both days from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the show features over 30 dealers, free appraisals and kids activities.
