Obituary: David Michael Ortiz
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Mon, 03/25/2019 - 4:18pmDavid Michael Ortiz passed away March 16 surrounded by family in Gardnerville. He was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Joseph and Cruzita Ortiz on April 12, 1950.
David grew up in Santa Fe Springs, California with his 7 siblings and served in the U.S. Navy before moving to Lake Tahoe. He was a Facilities Engineer at Harrah's Lake Tahoe for 33 years where he met and married the love of his life, Paula (Bachmeier).

And that may happen today with gusty winds to usher in another storm, expected to bring up to 2 feet of snow around Lake Tahoe. If there's something we can always count on the last 10 days of March, besides the NCAA basketball championships, is unsettled weather. We can expect showers this morning with some clearing this afternoon. Speaking of NCAA basketball, the 7th ranked Nevada Wolf Pack Men's basketball team will face 10th ranked Florida Gators today, 3:50 p.m.

Today is Nevada Moves Day where schoolchildren will be walking and riding their bikes to and from school. Motorists may want to be especially careful as there are more kids on the sidewalks and crosswalks than usual.
