Nevada Humanities has awarded 60 grants totaling $614,357.92 to 44 nonprofit organizations across Nevada.

Supported by the federal American Rescue Plan Relief Act (ARP), Nevada Humanities Relief Operating Grant and Nevada Humanities Recovery Program Grants help Nevada’s humanities-focused organizations prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

CARSON CITY — The Nevada State Treasurer’s Office and the Governor’s Office of Economic of Development announced Monday that applications for ​the Pandemic Emergency Technical Support grant program are now being accepted.

RENO - Based on processed applications as of May 13, 2020, Nevada State Bank has announced approval for 4,255 U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans totaling $592,005,500.

More than 68% of the loans were made to businesses with fewer than 10 employees and approximately 82% of the loans approved were for amounts less than $150,000 (57% for amounts less than $50,000). The funding will help preserve payrolls for 65,607 Nevada jobs, based on applicant data.

Greater Commercial Lending (GCL) continues to accept applications for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), authorized by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as a result of the recently enacted Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). The company is one of the earliest business lenders to fully adopt the PPP in the State of Nevada since opening applications on Friday, April 3. By mid-day on Monday, April 6, over 400 Nevada businesses had submitted applications to GCL.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic that continues to threaten local economies across the country, the U.S. Small Business Administration has increased efforts to alleviate the hardship experienced by small businesses.
