Carson City Toyota helping WNC students succeed through scholarships
Submitted by editor on Fri, 08/26/2016 - 10:16amCarson City Toyota is funding several new scholarships for local students who attend Western Nevada College. The students come from Carson City, Dayton, Douglas and Silver Stage high schools.
Carson Toyata General Manager Dana Whaley presented a $4,000 check to WNC President Chet Burton this week. The scholarships were created to help eight college students meet financial needs, as they work toward a degree from WNC.

WNC Foundation awards more than $150,000 in scholarships

Student award recipients and their families and scholarship donors filled the Carson Nugget ballroom Friday, Oct. 16.
Prioritizing Nevada’s workforce: NV Energy Foundation gives WNC $25,000 grant

Nevada Appeal publisher resigns
Submitted by admin on Thu, 09/08/2011 - 6:29pmNevada Appeal and Record-Courier Publisher Niki Gladys has resigned to become director of sales for the rival Reno Gazette-Journal. Mark Raymond, publisher of The News-Review in Roseberg, Oregon, will serve as interim publisher for both papers.
Nugget Project tidbits

The story begins two week ago when Guy Farmer wrote a rather harsh column that slammed the Nugget Project. In response, last week there was a guest column by Michael Douglass criticizing Farmer's take on the subject.
