Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Mon, 04/29/2019 - 11:16amNevada Humanities has announced the winners of the statewide Letters About Literature program. 243 students from Nevada submitted entries to the national competition at the Library of Congress, and nine Nevada students placed in the top three of their respective judging categories and will be honored in a ceremony in Las Vegas on Tuesday, May 7, 2019. The first place winners in each category will represent Nevada at the national competition in Washington, D.C.

The Tigers have not lost or tied a game yet this season and extended their winning streak tonight to 21-0-0. They are the obvious number one seed going into play offs and statistically most likely to go to state, but only time will tell who is going for sure.

You'd think that would be good news, with major investment and thousands of permanent jobs for the area. People should be cheering. But it comes in exchange for major tax breaks. That’s the bad news. CARSON CITY – Nevada’s highway system ranked 15th among the states in 2008 for performance and cost effectiveness, an improvement of three spots from the prior year, according to a national report released this month by the Reason Foundation.
In first place was North Dakota. Rhode Island ranked 50th.
