Lyon County emergency crews respond to brush fire, vehicle crash in Dayton

UPDATE: Forward progress on the brush fire was stopped at 3:22 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Central Lyon County Fire Department was called Monday afternoon to a brush fire in Dayton near Townsend Street and Andrea Way. Carson City Fire Department was also called to respond as mutual aid.

On Wednesday, June 17 at 3:25 p.m. Lyon County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a structure fire near Main Street and US Highway 50 in Dayton.
Central Lyon first responders save riders from ATV crash near Sutro Tunnel

Yesterday Central Lyon County Fire Department responded to the Sutro Tunnel area for reports of an ATV accident. Crews were able to get all four occupants out to safety where they all received medical care.

The Nevada State Fire Marshal is requesting the public’s help identifying a person of interest in connection with an arson attempt that happened Thursday to the North Lyon County Fire Department in Fernley.
