Spying the full Moon and Jupiter
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sat, 10/08/2022 - 8:35pmThis evening, looking out my back door, I could see that the moon was very bright and cast nice crisp shadows. Today is the full moon for October and the next one will be Nov. 9. As I spied the moon I saw that Jupiter was just above and to the right and was also very clear. Several of Jupiter's moons were also visible.

The Great Conjunction over Carson City skies

Photos were taken off of Pine Lane in north Carson City with a Nikon Coolpix P-1000, which has a substantial zoom. As an added bonus I just had to zoom into the moon and capture it as well.

Moons of Jupiter Band to play Friday at Bob McFadden Plaza in Carson City

Even more than Gone with the Wind, it was the most revolutionary film. It was radically different from everything before it, and it influenced all film after it more than any other work. Yet, nothing made since 1968 is really like it, either.

Els will be defending his title at the 2013 British Open on the same weekend that Quinn, the former National Hockey League star, will be trying to repeat at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe.
