Once you start making rings, you just can't stop! In this introductory class you will practice basic soldering techniques with a torch and learn how to make fitted rings, put texture on your ring bands and set small stones into a pre-made bezel setting on one of your handmade rings.

UPDATE: Due to weather concerns, the Pirate Pup Parade will be moved indoors outside of the Black Box Theater at the Brewery Arts Center. The film showing of "Hook" will be held in the BAC Performance Hall. Food Trucks will be outside in the parking lot.

Acrylic Pour Jewelry Making Class at Rustically Divine

There will be an Acrylic Pour Jewelry Making Class on Wednesday, August 7, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m at Rustically Divine in Carson City.

Create modern-abstract fluid effects with acrylic pouring in three separate pendants, one silver chain included. “Anyone can do this!” says Dana Childs, who will teach the class.

The fee is $45 and includes supplies.

Note: pourings will need to be left overnight to cure, and be assembled, please plan to pick up artwork as soon as possible.

My Thousand Words teaches Book Art Jewelry

The events are Friday, July 26 from 6:30 to 830 p.m. and Saturday, July 27, 2-4pm at Western Nevada College.

Students will be learning to make jewelry from books and magazines and enjoying wearing beautiful recycled jewelry that doesn't look like it is recycled at all.

Van Gogh & Vino, an open art studio where participants of all skills and abilities can sip wine, socialize and paint works of art with friends, family and co-workers, will relocated from Carson Valley to a 2,000 square foot studio in Carson City by Red's Old 395 Grill and the new Tahoe Ridge Winery. "The Ring"- New to the BAC, this class is a favorite and is great for experienced and beginners alike! In this two-hour class you will learn to make rings out of wire and beads. They are precious and surprisingly durable. In the last class we were able to make two rings each and every one of them was darling and reflected their artist! This let's you keep one and give one as a gift...or keep them both. :) (Class size limited to 15.)
