I Love Carson City’s Weekend Event Summary: April 7 - 8

Event Date:
April 7, 2018 (All day)
April 8, 2018 (All day)

With soggy weather here, some cancellations are inevitable. One thing you can count on, however, is the monthly Downtown Business Association’s wine walk; it’s a rain, shine, or blizzard event. Stay dry and well-fed with the Kiwanis annual BINGO Spaghetti Feed at the Carson Senior Center. The Brewery Arts Center hosts some pretty amazing vocalists for their newest fundraiser, ‘Evening with the Divas.’ Keep reading for even more Carson City, Carson Valley, and Dayton options.
SATURDAY:

Friday happenings around Carson City: pinwheels, airplanes, and probably umbrellas

Event Date:
April 6, 2018 (All day)

Well, the expected rain didn’t show up overnight, but that doesn’t mean it’s not on its way. The brand-new Friday morning walk with Muscle Powered is weather permitting and will meet at the Multi-purpose Athletic Center instead of Fuji Park if it’s wet out. You’ll notice a sea of blue downtown after noon as the annual pinwheel planting for Child Abuse Awareness takes place; the community is welcomed to lend a hand. It’s aviation night at the Children’s Museum with paper airplanes and pilots on the agenda.

Carols and Homebrew (Hymns and Homebrew)

a group of adults and children gathered and singing carols
Event Date:
December 21, 2015 - 6:00pm

Hymns and Homebrew is a little bit church pot luck, a little bit pub-culture, and a little bit old fashioned hymn-sing. It's a chance to come as you are and experience traditional music of the church in a new context, and maybe recapture some of the joy of the original composers. In December, we're tossing out the normal hymn books and singing our favorite Christmas carols. Musicians are invited to bring their instruments and join in; song sheets are provided.
