Friday happenings around Carson City: pinwheels, airplanes, and probably umbrellas
Submitted by Danielle Cook on Fri, 04/06/2018 - 5:58amWell, the expected rain didn’t show up overnight, but that doesn’t mean it’s not on its way. The brand-new Friday morning walk with Muscle Powered is weather permitting and will meet at the Multi-purpose Athletic Center instead of Fuji Park if it’s wet out. You’ll notice a sea of blue downtown after noon as the annual pinwheel planting for Child Abuse Awareness takes place; the community is welcomed to lend a hand. It’s aviation night at the Children’s Museum with paper airplanes and pilots on the agenda.

Carols and Homebrew (Hymns and Homebrew)
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sat, 12/05/2015 - 3:26pmHymns and Homebrew is a little bit church pot luck, a little bit pub-culture, and a little bit old fashioned hymn-sing. It's a chance to come as you are and experience traditional music of the church in a new context, and maybe recapture some of the joy of the original composers. In December, we're tossing out the normal hymn books and singing our favorite Christmas carols. Musicians are invited to bring their instruments and join in; song sheets are provided.
