Giant guitar greets Lake Tahoe visitors at new Hard Rock casino in Stateline

Nor does one normally see a huge crane lifting a metal guitar over 100 feet to be placed onto a base in front of a South Shore casino.
Douglas High Graduate Terrence Martin and his team, Todd Schulze and Courtney Cardenas, were busy installing the guitar last week. Many people were passing by, stopping to ask the metal artist questions and taking photos of what will soon be the talk of the town and the subject of many photos.

Carson City man jailed for credit card fraud at local motel
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 08/15/2013 - 8:51amA Carson City man was jailed Wednesday and faces three felony charges including fraudulent use of a credit card after, among other things, allegedly stealing identity from a victim and charging hotel rooms on a Visa card.
Scott Michael Westman, 44, was arrested in the 2700 block of Carson Street. According to the arrest report, officers responded to a motel to assist the Colorado Springs Police Department in identifying a theft report. While responding to the hotel, dispatch advised a man had used information to obtain a credit card, which was being run up at the hotel.
Reno woman found safe, Petaluma woman remains missing after attending South Lake Tahoe party
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 01/02/2013 - 5:34pmUPDATE: 8:27 PM: The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the 21-year-old Reno woman reported missing since early New Year's day, Chantel Good, has been found unhurt. Still missing is a 19-year-old Petaluma woman, Alyssa Marie Byrne.
UPDATE 7:35PM: Reno Channel 2 KTVN reports that a 21-year-old Reno woman is missing as well as a 19-year-old Petaluma woman.
Chantel Good is described as 5 foot 4 inches and was last seen wearing brown boots, a flower-printed blue dress, a creme/beige pullover sweater, and a pink Aztec-design sweater. She was holding a brown satchel.
