Submitted by Brett Fisher on Sun, 02/11/2018 - 8:39amWhat gorgeous weather we are having with beautiful sunny, warm days. Buds on trees are swelling, daffodils and other bulbs are poking up their heads. I suspect if this weather continues, soon even the grass could be greening.
JoAnne Skelly: Bark beetles killing trees throughout the West
Submitted by editor on Sat, 10/08/2016 - 3:55pmI just returned from a trip to the Black Hills in South Dakota. While Mt Rushmore was impressive, the amount of dead trees in the otherwise beautiful forests was depressing. They were everywhere. In addition, there were huge slash piles stacked in the forest. It was ugly and sad to see the extent of the damage.
Frolicking fish near Carson River in Nevada could be spawning, official says
