There will not be a repeat of the drama that played out in the state Legislature two years ago over gay marriage now that a federal appeals court has ruled same-sex marriage is legal in Nevada....

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A federal appeals court says it will consider Nevada's gay marriage ban in September.

The president of the State Bar of Nevada is apparently none too pleased with Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto.

Amid raucous debate, Nevada Republican Party conventioneers on Saturday stripped opposition to gay marriage and abortion from the party platform and endorsed Gov. Brian Sandoval for governor in the June 10 primary despite misgivings by conservatives, his criticism of the process and his absence from the meeting.

"After the voters of Nevada passed a law designating that marriage be defined as a union between a man and a woman, Nevada’s Democrat (sic) attorney general has co-opted with the ultra-liberal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and decided that 'we can’t win after the Ninth Circuit changed the rules' (by deciding in another case that any law that deals with homosexual people requires heightened scrutiny with regard to possible
discrimination)."

Nevada’s attorney general and governor said Monday that they won’t defend the state’s gay marriage ban when it goes before a federal appeals court, saying that a recent court decision makes the state’s arguments supporting its constitutional amendment “no longer defensible.”

Between June 7 and August 4 the Carson City Library engaged a record breaking 2,750 youth, ages 6 – 17, in signups for the 2013 summer reading program and attendance in summer learning activities. CARSON CITY — The Nevada Senate took an emotional step toward legalizing gay marriage with a near party-line vote to repeal the state’s heterosexual definition of marriage.

As our legislators practice their compassion for homosexual marriage in what the unenlightened refer to as 'profaning our historic religious traditions', they will now consider overturning the laws of nature and biology to gratify the countless progressives who claim to be unfairly labeled by their detractors as deviants and/or Feminists. However, in the words of our President, perhaps we should also address the equally important issue of fairness.
